Puffed Wheat Cereal Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Stir in cereal.
  2. Drop heaping teaspoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheets to wire racks. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature. Makes about 5 doz.

Tips and Suggestions

Shortcut: To quickly soften butter, cut each stick into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Place on microwaveable plate. Microwave on MEDIUM-LOW (30%) for 10 to 20 sec. or just until slightly softened.
