Original Munch Mix with Spicy Variation

  • 4 cups Post Original Shredded Wheat Spoon Size Cereal
  • 2 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup small pretzels
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 env. Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder


  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Toss cereal with popcorn, pretzels and nuts in 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with salad dressing mix.
  2. Mix butter, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Drizzle evenly over cereal mixture; toss to coat.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 min. or until lightly toasted, stirring after 20 min. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

Tips and Suggestions

Special Extra: Spice things up by adding 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce and 1/4 tsp. chili powder to the butter mixture before drizzling over cereal mixture. Continue as directed.

Substitute: Substitute peanuts for the mixed nuts.
