The Honeycomb Story: Breakfast Like No Other
Introduced in 1965, Honeycomb is a classic Post cereal. Honeycomb fans have loved the original shape and one-of-a-kind taste of the cereal for more than 45 years.
Honeycomb fans have been such great loyalists for so long, that when Post tried to change the formula — twice — they retaliated. Post believes in listening to its loyal customers and offering products they absolutely love to eat.
So, in line with the brand’s "be true to you" attitude, Honeycomb was shortly thereafter changed to a formula that stayed truer to what fans already loved.
No other cereal is quite like it.
Honeycomb is proud to stand out from the crowd.
Honeycomb jingle, yeah yeah yeah!
Honeycomb’s unforgettable jingle has been sung by a few artists throughout the years. The jingle first debuted in a commercial with an animated cowboy named Honeycomb Kid, and was themed after the 1957 Jimmie Rodgers hit, “Honeycomb.’
During the 1970s and 1980s, television commercials featured kids in their clubhouse, called the Honeycomb Hideout, who would win over clubhouse visitors by giving them a big bite of Honeycomb cereal and singing the jingle:
“Honeycomb’s big... Yeah, yeah, yeah!
It’s not small... No, no, no!
Honeycomb’s got... A big, big bite!
Big, big (taste/crunch) in a big, big bite!”
In 2012, a jingle contest on the Honeycomb Facebook page challenged fans to submit their version of the Honeycomb jingle for a chance to win $5,000. The up-and-coming band, We The Kings, recorded their own version and judged the contest.
