  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups Grape-Nuts Cereal
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats 1 cup raisins


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix flour and baking soda in small bowl. Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy after each addition. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture and water alternately, beating well after each addition.
  2. Add cereal, oats and raisins; stir until well blended. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake 12 min. or until lightly browned. Cool 1 min.; remove from baking sheets. Cool completely on wire racks. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Tips and Suggestions

Substitute: Substitute dried cranberries for the raisins.

Make Ahead: Prepare dough as directed; divide into 2 equal portions. Shape dough into 2 (12x2-inch) logs. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. When ready to bake, cut each log into 3/4-inch thick slices. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake as directed.
